Hockey Gods looking down on us

Ladies and Gentleman! I'd like to finally reassure that the hockey gods have not forgotten about us. In game 3 in the Canucks and Predators series, it appeared that the refs made a bad call against Shea Weber of the Nasvhille Predatorshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb-uNmVchkk&feature=channel_video_title. Now I know what everyone was thinking at the time. "Wow a terrible time to call a borderline, terrible penalty on the best defenseman in the NHL in his home building in overtime of an important second round Stanley Cup Playoff game. But I'm sure the hockey gods won't allow the game to end on this powerplay in front of all these awesome fans." But when this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHOe84pX_X0 happened, I'm sure it put doubt in the minds of hockey fans everywhere about the existence of the hockey gods.

But tonight, tonight we are reassured of their existence in the modern era NHL. Another terrible call was made in a playoff game. This time it was brought on by the thousands of (reasonably) biased Red Wing fans in the Joe. The ref hesitantly raised his hand for the penalty that went against Devin Setoguchi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SyCaln8nWY&feature=channel_video_title. Now after last nights disappointment, you were probably thinking "I saw this already last night. Another important game decided by the referees in overtime. *Sigh* *cigar extinguis* *slit wrists*". But this is where the hockey gods came in. San Jose' killed off the overtime penalty and just 2 minutes after killing off the penalty, San Jose' scored. Now you must be thinking "hmm a little twist tonight. I'm sure San Jose' got lucky. No supernatural indications here." But wait! There's more! It wasn't any ordinary Shark player who scored the goal! It was none other then Devin Setoguchi! YA! That same guy who was called for the bogus penalty just 4 minutes earlier. "Hmm" you might say, "maybe there is a hockey god." But wait! Becuase there's more. This was Seto's third goal of the game for him and put the Sharks up 3-0 in the series against Hockey Town. "Yoro, you've just converted me to a hockeyist. I believe in only the hockey gods now". Such parity in the NHL. The fans of the team that caused the awful call now suffer while their team is all but finished from the post season while the player who was called for the bone head penalty enjoyed, what may have been, the most memorable night of his career.

I love hockey.
