Ryan Clowe (upper body injury) and Johan Franzen (ankle) will be out for game 6 tonight in Detroit. Clowe, who is tied in second in the playoffs for the leader in points, will be sidelined while his team has to end the Red Wing's comeback. This will be tough for them to do especially without Clowe who leads his team in points and assists going into tonights contest. This will put even more pressure on the slumping Patrick Marleau who has literally done NOTHING in the series. Like if you were to read the boxscore of the paper for each game so far between the 2 teams, there will be no proof that Marleau, the Sharks best forward in the regular season, is even playing. So he has to change that tonight ESPECIALLY since Clowe isn't playing.
Franzen couldn't do too much in game 5 with his injury and will have to sit out for game 6. "The Mule" is a fantastic player who battles hard and scores timely goals and will be greatly missed for tonights game. In his place in the lineup tonight will be Mike Modano in what might be his last game of his career. After being benched for all but 1 game this postseason, he has an opportunity to show what he can still do. But more pressure on the Red Wing offense overall tonight. Their leading goal scorer is their 41 year old defenseman with 4 goals so far. Datsyuk played well with his injured wrist and is back in the lineup tonight. Being their best centreman, Datsyuk didn't take ANY faceoffs because of his wrist. But if Detroit wants to force the game 7, they need to get continued success from guys like Helm and Eaves who have been playing great for them. Also, Jimmy Howard has to play just as good as he has been. Shouldn't be a problem though. From what I've seen, he's in the zone.
