For the first time since 1995, the NHL has produced 4 first round 7 game series. The Lightning in Pittsburgh will be on Wednesday at 8 o' clock. The Canadiens at Boston will be Wednesday at 7 o' clock. Tonight Philly is looking like they will beat Buffalo as they are ahead 4 in the third in their game 7 in Philadelphia. And later tonight (at 10) Vancouver hosts Chicago at home.
All of these series have been magical. The Lightning battled back from down 3 games to 1 and won game 5 convincingly 8-2. Game 7 should be an offensive explosion. Buffalo came into the playoffs hot and put up a fight against the heavily favored Flyers but couldn't get the job done tonight (or in game 6). The Habs finally won at home and now can win the series in Boston in what was the most anticipated first round matchup. And of course the rematch of the Hawks and the Canucks. This series was just awesome and Chicago is looking to do what the Flyers did last year. Come back from a 3 games to none deficit.
If the first round is any indicator, we are in for a hell of a playoff season.
