As Tampa Bay will face possible elimination on Saturday in Pittsburgh, Lightning fans as well as NHL fans want to know one thing
WHERE THE HELL DID STEVEN STAMKOS GO?!?!?!?
The top 3 most electrifying players in the NHL, one of the best scorers in the game has essentially disappeared. The guy who scored 45 goals over the season has yet to score in the first four games of the playoffs. Teams NEED their star players to take things up a notch in the playoffs and Stamkos hasn't been able to do so. St. Louis has done most of the heavy lifting scoring-wise so far and perhaps if Stamkos involved himself a bit more, this would be an even series. His time out on the ice hasn't really increased much in the postseason than from the regular season so that's not an excuse for him. It might be the pressure that has gotten to the 21 year old superstar who made his first playoff appearance this year. Whatever the case, he only has 1 point (a secondary assist in game 3) and if Tampa has any idea of making a comeback in this one, he needs to wake up. Because the guy who averages a little over a point a game in the regular season, should not be averaging .25 points a game in the playoffs.
EDITOR'S NOTE: He answered the call today. Must've read my article. He had 2 goals and an assist.
