Colin Campbell Resigns from Disciplinary Giver-Outer

As mentioned in this post http://robinsnest-yoro.blogspot.com/2011/05/missing-hockey-gods.html, Colin Campbell has received a lot of heat about his disciplinary decisions. His son plays in the NHL and it has appeared that the Bruins, Gregory Campbell's team, has been getting away with several calls and have been getting off scott-free. Well today he resigned from his position. In his place is Brendan Shanahan. Shanahan has been fantastic in the NHL offices since he's retired and he has greatly improved the game. He knows the game well because of the many years of playing and he knows what would increase the pleasure in the game. For instance, HE was the one behind the genius new All Star game format.
*As a reminder, the all star game format was changed this year. It was previously the usual East vs. West meaningless matchup. In its place, the NHL designated 1 captain and 3 alternate captains for each team. They then had a mock-draft on live television between all the other All Stars. This was a great way to see the other side of the NHL players and was highly entertaining. The game itself was also more entertaining and grew the interests of the casual fan along with the die-hard fans. In my opinion this was a great way to improve the game.*
So I think this change in the position of disciplinary actions will help the game greatly and may make it more fair. He knows how to keep the players safe because he too had to make sure he was safe on the ice.
